Job Description Summary

The Senior Director of Project Management and Strategy is responsible for activities related to project management and strategic planning. Project management components include developing and implementing project management policies and processes, supporting senior management in determining project priority, directing project management staff, and leading projects. Strategic planning efforts include identifying, analyzing and recommending strategies to increase student success.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in management consulting, strategy, business development, project and program management, financial planning & analysis, or public policy.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years supervisor experience.
  3. One or more years of experience working in or developing a Project Management Office. Project Management Institute Certification (PMP, PgMP, or PfMP) preferred.
Criteria

CRITERIA:The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed.   1. Record of building strong relationships with collaborators across an organization and external partners, leveraging strengths and resources in strategic ways.
  2. Business-savvy and strategic thinker; able to deftly manage cross-organizational projects that require a high level of sensitivity and excellent judgment.
  3. Strategic problem solving and quantitative analysis skills, including experience in structuring high level strategic issues into concrete analyses with actionable conclusions.
  4. Demonstrated experience making decisions based on quantitative analysis and sound evidence and logic.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly about analyses, insights, and recommendations, and demonstrated ability to target presentation style, written or oral, to different audiences.
  6. The ability to operationalize, track and measure the success of key strategic initiatives.
  7. Experience moving major strategy projects forward with minimal oversight, and ability to adapt to new information, situations, or challenges with minimal guidance.
  8. Demonstrated experience using project management processes and tools and establishing project management methodologies at other organizations with varying degrees of project management maturity.
Job Requirements
  1. Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
  2. A limited background investigation may be conducted prior to offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
