Job Description Summary

This is an on call position

Minimum Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Zero to six months of employment as a theatre technician or other equivalent experience at the Hallam Theatre of Prince George’s Community College or other performing arts venues.
  3. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Criteria

The following criteria will be used to review the applications of those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and select those who will be invited for an interview. In addition to the criteria listed below, other information gained from, and observations made during the interview process may be considered in selecting candidates to be recommended for appointment. Please ensure that your application and attached documents address the criteria listed below:

  1. Required to assist and perform activities such as set-up, installation, and operation of requirements on the stage and in the theatre space during a work-shift or event and act as a point of contact between the group or organization using the theatre.
  2. Required to assist and clean the stage and theatre spaces at the beginning of a work-shift or event and the restoration of the stage at the end of a work-shift or event.
  3. Must be able to operate theatrical equipment.
  4. Must be able to work without supervision on occasion.
  5. Must be able to operate under stress
Job Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. This position requires, significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
  2. Must be able to lift 50 LBS.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  4. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
