Job Description Summary

The Program Director of the Wellness Center is responsible for leadership in the development, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the Wellness Center to ensure students receive needed nursing services, counseling services, violence prevention services, and other support services. The Program Director ensures that the Wellness Center provides first aid, emergency readiness, nursing care for illnesses and injuries, health education and health awareness campaigns, and referrals to community resources for the College Community.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in health administration, nursing, exercise science, medicine, kinesiology (sports medicine), nutrition and other health studies topics is required.
  2. A minimum of two years of full time experience in an ambulatory setting or public health setting, health promotions, health education and/or prevention work, or outreach and event coordination required.
  3. At least two years of supervisor experience required.
  4. Master’s degree preferred.

  1. Ability to provide oversight for delivery of health care services.
  2. Demonstrated ability to train and supervise registered nurses and other health care providers, and coordinate physician activities.
  3. Ability to oversee staff performing nursing procedures and other infectious disease reporting.
  4. Ability to assess and respond to a variety of medical and mental health emergencies within the Wellness Center.
  5. Knowledge of mandated reporting requirements for nurses, physicians, and psychology staff; knowledge of Title IX and Clery reporting requirements.
  6. Knowledge of communicable disease prevention, including reporting, screening, public health management and follow-up.
  7. Ability to develop and promote health educational resources to raise student and staff awareness.
  8. Demonstrated experience in chronic disease education and health counseling.
  9. Ability to oversee the use of medical equipment such as.
  10. Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.
  11. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Access).
  12. Ability to create and manage a budget.
  13. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Requirements
  1. Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
