Full-time faculty position, effective Fall 2017
Fixed Term Appointment

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Food Service Management, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  2. Two years full-time, or equivalent part-time, teaching or training experience in Culinary Arts.
  3. Significant professional experience in food service operations, including substantial responsibilities in purchasing and inventory management.
  4. Professional credentialing strongly preferred.
Criteria

CRITERIA:The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process. Please ensure that your application and attached documents address the criteria listed below:

  1. Relevance of teaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments.
  2. Relevance of non-teaching professional experience to anticipated teaching assignments.
  3. Evidence of currency in the professional discipline with emphasis on food purchasing and inventory management, professional development, and/or scholarly activity.
  4. Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving.
  5. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment.
  6. Experience mentoring students or young professionals.
  7. Experience with a range of instructional and assessment methods.
  8. Effective use of current and appropriate technology in teaching.
Job Requirements
  1. Degree from an accredited institution. (Unofficial transcripts must accompany application; official transcripts are required upon offer of employment.)
  2. Letters of recommendation (job-related and dated within the past three years).
  3. Documentation of experience and performance.
  4. Ability to teach flexible schedules.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  6. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
