Job Description Summary

Library Faculty – Resource Development/eLearning Librarian

Seeking a Resource Development/e-Learning Librarian to coordinate the evaluation, selection and purchase of print and media resources and teach online using a learning management system. This position also coordinates the archival digitization process using CONTENTdm.

Full-time, 37 ½ hours per week, 12 month, faculty position. Occasional evening and weekend hours, as the teaching schedule requires. Documentation of experience and performance required by teaching a sample 20-30 minute information literacy lesson during the interview and providing proof of curriculum and/or course material development for classroom and/or online instruction.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Master’s degree in library/information science from an American Library Association accredited program.
  2. Minimum of two years equivalent (full and/or part-time) college/university experience, post MLS, in evaluation, selection, and acquisition of print and media resources. Some experience with learning management systems a plus.
Criteria

CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process.

  1. Extent of relevant experience in a college/university library.
  2. Extent of information literacy instruction experience using the ACRL standards and/or Framework.
  3. Extent of experience providing instruction/reference online using learning management software such as Blackboard.
  4. Extent of experience evaluating, selecting, and acquiring, print and media resources.
  5. Extent of experience or potential for working effectively with vendors, faculty, students and eLearning staff.
  6. Extent of experience working with archival materials and using archival standards, theory, processing, software and programs, such as CONTENTdm.
  7. Extent of experience working in a college/university library providing classroom and face-to-face reference services, searching electronic research databases and the Internet, using Web 2.0 and other technologies, and print sources.
